The art of getting hurt & loving it :)

The art of getting hurt & loving it :)

I recently got a new tattoo of a time in my life that I always want to remember.

The pain of the needles piercing the skin on my rib cage was substantial, but totally bearable (although they say the skin on your ribs is one of the more sensitive areas). I think that’s because I perceive physical pain by far not as painful as mental pain. I try to remember that it’s only my nerves signalling my brain that there’s something awful happening with my skin, as nerdy as it sounds. It’s a reflex that can be trained to be ignored. Same thing with workout. If your body burns and aches (unless you’re really damaging yourself) it’s a sign that you’re reaching your limits – don’t stop. Keep going. This is what’s giving you strength!

Also, the physical pain made me focus on the gain of a wonderful piece of artwork, a symbol of strength, a constant reminder of that I went through a hard time, but I made it, and it made me stronger!

So is it weird to say I actually enjoyed this session? Haha.

And you know what they say – getting tattoos is addictive! It is!!

I’m planning already the next one – a motive that is really important to me. I’m writing Anna’s Story as we speak. So much love, so many beautiful things to remember.
